  • GOALS

  • The International Postgraduate Program in Fire Protection Engineering and Technology aims to provide students with comprehensive and qualified training in this field through a curriculum that covers the most important aspects. Each of the eight modules is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and technical abilities necessary for their complete and comprehensive development in the area of Fire Protection Engineering and Technology. The specific objectives of this International Postgraduate Program in Fire Protection Engineering and Technology are as follows:
  • To understand the fundamental principles of Fire Theory, as well as the basic principles of Fire Protection.
  • To analyze the international regulatory framework for Fire Protection and equip students with the ability to develop real-world projects using the main regulatory standards.
  • To analyze and define human behavior in the event of a fire, as well as to define evacuation parameters at both prescriptive and performance levels.
  • Understand the fundamentals of hydraulics and its application in the calculation of fire protection systems, through the resolution of various basic and complex situations commonly encountered within different water-based systems.
  • Deepen and develop an understanding of the operating principles, components, and design criteria of the different systems that comprise Active and Passive Fire Protection, through the study of water, foam, and gaseous fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and the fire reaction and resistance of materials.
  • Equip students with the knowledge and tools necessary for fire analysis and protection in various specific activities under their respective regulations.
  • METHODOLOGY AND EVALUATION

  • The methodology for work and study is entirely online, allowing students to take advantage of virtual classes and progress at their own pace through the virtual platform.
  • Training is delivered via the ESSIIF virtual platform.
  • The Postgraduate program consists of materials edited and created exclusively by professionals in each subject area. These materials will develop each topic by introducing fundamental theoretical concepts while incorporating the necessary practical design aspects.
  • One of the main components of this training program is the live lectures delivered via the video conferencing platform. These lectures facilitate learning through the contributions of expert instructors in each subject.
  • You will be able to delve deeper into the concepts developed during the training program through individualized tutorials with the program's instructors.
  • Students will tackle real-world case studies that will allow them to develop specific skills and competencies in each subject area. This is a useful tool to ensure the progress and development of students, enabling them to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary to undertake real-world projects in the field of fire protection. The evaluation of each module will be conducted online through the submission of assignments and partial projects (80%) and a theoretical-practical test that the student will take at the end of each module (20%).
