ÁREA DE CONOCIMIENTO:  Protección Contra Incendios

GOALS

  • The main objective of this course is to provide students with comprehensive and qualified training in the fire protection sector, specifically focusing on the water supply for fire protection systems. Each module aims to equip students with sufficient knowledge in fire protection engineering to understand, analyze, and design water supply systems in their various forms. The specific objectives of this Advanced Course in Water Supply for Fire Protection Systems, according to UNE 23500-2021, are as follows:
  • To introduce students to specific water supply systems for fire protection.
  • To understand the fundamentals of hydraulics and pumps, delving into their curves and selection.
  • To learn how to select the appropriate water supply based on the type of source, class, and category, as specified by UNE 23500-2021.
  • To explore the various components of fire protection water pressure systems.
  • To equip students with the knowledge, analytical skills, and tools necessary for the design of fire protection water supply systems according to UNE 23500-2021.
  • To instruct students in the tests and procedures established by regulations for the commissioning and maintenance of the components of the water supply system.
  • To learn to differentiate and identify the various common problems and failures in water supply systems.
  • METHODOLOGY AND EVALUATION

  • The work and study methodology is entirely online, allowing students to follow the course flexibly according to their availability. The main characteristics of the teaching method are described below:
  • Training delivered through the ESSIIF virtual platform.
  • The course consists of materials edited and created exclusively by professionals in each of the subjects taught. These professionals will develop each topic by introducing fundamental theoretical concepts while incorporating the necessary practical design aspects. The core of the course is comprised of PDF documentation delivered via the platform.
  • Theoretical and practical training activities through video lessons complement the provided documentation.
  • Individualized tutoring with the program's instructors.
  • Students will have access to the virtual platform for six months to complete the course. This period can be extended for another six months.
  • The evaluation of each module will be conducted online through the submission of assignments and partial projects (80%) and a theoretical-practical exam that students will take at the end of each module (20%).
