  • GOALS

  • This Specialization Course aims to provide students with comprehensive and qualified training in the area of risk engineering and management. Each of the five modules is designed to provide the fundamental knowledge necessary to identify potential risks in industry, detail the tools for assessing and quantifying them, and provide the necessary instruments for mitigating, eliminating, or transferring them. The specific objectives of this Specialization Course are as follows:
  • To introduce students to the concepts of risk engineering and management, as well as their relevance in the industrial and insurance sectors.
  • To equip students with the tools and skills for identifying and analyzing the various risks present in industrial environments, as well as evaluating their effects on the company.
  • To define the most relevant aspects to consider during field visits, as well as their conclusions in the form of improvement recommendations.
  • To specifically introduce students to the different methods of technical risk assessment and consequence analysis, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • Define the main methodologies for loss estimation, with the practical application of elements such as maximum possible and estimated loss.
  • Determine the main elements to consider in business decision-making and risk management.
  • METHODOLOGY AND EVALUATION

  • The methodology for work and study is entirely online, allowing students to take advantage of virtual classes and progress at their own pace through the virtual platform.
  • Training is delivered via the ESSIIF virtual platform.
  • The Specialization Course consists of materials edited and created exclusively by professionals in each subject area. These professionals will develop each topic by introducing fundamental theoretical concepts while incorporating the necessary practical design aspects.
  • One of the main components of this training program is the live masterclasses delivered via the video conferencing platform. These classes facilitate learning through the contributions of expert instructors in each subject.
  • You will be able to delve deeper into the concepts developed during the training program through individualized tutoring sessions with the program's instructors.
  • Students will tackle real-world case studies that will allow them to develop specific skills and competencies. This is a useful tool to ensure the progress and development of students, enabling them to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary to undertake real-world projects in the field of fire protection. Students will have access to a software license throughout the course. Evaluation will be based on the submission of a practical case study (60%), a multiple-choice test (30%), and participation in the forum (10%).
