INSTRUCTOR: Pietro Sbrighi, Head of the Expert Reporting Section at the Fire Protection Engineering Unit of DICTUC (www.dictuc.cl/ipf), and an active member of the IAAI (International Association of Fire Investigators), who is also certified. DICTUC is an entity affiliated with the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, serving various sectors through specialized services. TARGET AUDIENCE:

    METHODOLOGY AND EVALUATION

  • The methodology for work and study is entirely online, allowing students to take advantage of virtual classes while also having the flexibility to progress according to their availability through the virtual platform.
  • Training is delivered through the ESSIIF virtual platform.
  • The Specialization Course consists of materials edited and created exclusively by professionals in each of the subjects taught. These materials will develop each topic by introducing fundamental theoretical concepts while incorporating the necessary practical design aspects.
  • One of the main components of this training program is the live masterclasses held via the ZOOM platform. These classes facilitate learning thanks to the contributions of expert instructors in each subject.
  • You will be able to delve deeper into the concepts developed during the training program through individualized tutorials with the program's instructors.
  • Students will tackle real-world case studies that will allow them to develop specific skills and competencies. This is a useful tool to ensure the progress and development of students, enabling them to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary to undertake real-world projects in the field of fire protection. The assessment will be based on the submission of a practical case study (60%), a multiple-choice test (30%), and participation in the forum (10%).

    • PROGRAM

    This Specialization Course consists of four modules, which cover the most important aspects of fire investigation and expert analysis. Module 1. Techniques and Methodology in Forensic Fire Investigation. Based on NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033. Module 2. Theoretical Considerations on Fire Science - Fundamental Concepts for Fire Investigation. Module 3. Basic Concepts for Identifying Fire Effects and Patterns. Module 4. Practical Cases - Analysis of real cases, simulating the work of an investigator.

    DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES

  • Upon completion of the program, you will receive two certifications issued by two different entities:
  • ESSIIF's own certificate.
  • Isabel I University certificate.
